Project summary

The aim of our performance is to adapt our own theatre stories. The theme is "mafia stories" that have happened to us and our acquaintances in the theatre world, i.e. everything that happens to us in current cultural life in the form of abuse of power, distribution of money, personal and professional warfare. The members of the company bring a wealth of their own stories, which we then want to dramatise into a linear story of rise and fall - using films such as The Godfather and Scarface as inspiration. In this way, we would show how this "theatre mafia" of ours works on a personal and institutional level, by turning reality into fiction. We hope to create a valuable and thought-provoking story for everyone about what we live in - and what we dare not talk about in everyday life.

Apertura Company

Biography: The Perpetuum Manufaktúra (A-PER-TÚRA) is a young, creative theatrical team which is trying to broaden the opportunities of meeting the audience - the community - through several different artistic and social projects beyond theatre, in a curious and open-minded way. We believe in the power of dialogue and that - although with small steps - we are able to shape the world around us. Our aim is to get closer to each other with the help of our theatrical and community projects, and to think efficiently about solving the problems of our everyday life. We are not offering a solution, we simply would like to make the first step towards discovering it - together with you all. As Apertura Company we had our first premiere (Rebels) at Ördögkatlan Festival in 2022, but we continue playing our performances created at university, including Peace, based on a biblical story, and Farewell Concert, which won an award at an international online theatre festival in 2021.
