Project summary

Our networks are strange and complicated to explain, but in reality they make most of the production in the realm of independent, hand crafted screen printing, DIY art possible. And they really work! The epicentre of this residency network are 3 main entities: Andrej Julher, emerging artist (Zrenjanin, Serbia), Novo Doba festival (Belgrade, Serbia), Longest Night festival (Gothneburg, Sweeden) and 2 affiliated festival forces: Tenderete (Valencia, Spain) and Bosh (Gevgelija, North Macedonia). They will all gather at the 14th edition of Novo Doba in October 2023 in Belgrade. Some of these festivals reaching out to local communities, some are more established internationally and attract various producers. But we all work with the best artists we know. Andrej Julher

Biography: Andrej Julher is an artist born and based in Zrenjanin, whos artistic refuge overlaps design and fine art. His research explores the junction of myths, memory, and place through a poetic lens. Traditional techniques such as drawing and printing are at the core of his work, the mediums through which he explores, records, communicates, narrates, and utilizes in various formats - from animation to publication. During his studies of graphic design at Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, he attended the Summer Academy in Salzburg in 2019, and in 2020 he went on exchange to the Faculty of Fine Arts in Seville, before graduating in 2021. Working with artist from different cultural backgrounds he regards as an essential bastion of a non-aligned art and culture.
