Project summary

SYNSPECIES is an audiovisual project created by Elías Merino and Tadej Droljc in 2018 inspired by virtual ecologies – unstable morphological spaces that emerge from a devastating interaction of co-existing unrelated entities with the void. They co-create a world of unreal physicality that is constantly kneaded by violent forces. “Asbu” is a new audiovisual live performance developed as a residency by SYNSPECIES, a Spanish-Slovenian duo, with the assistance of three experienced international festivals (LEV, NODE and INDEX), specializing in innovation in digital arts, design and electronic music. During the residency the duo will experiment with new methods related to sound, image, and light, including algorithmic audiovisual composition, digital and modular synthesis, and lasers.
