Project summary

Ashes 2 Ashes is a contemporary dance project exploring diversity, resilience, and shared humanity through the metaphor of soil, the ground that connects us all. Across four residencies and two performances in different European countries, 4 artists collaborate with minority communities, gathering voices and stories that are transformed into movement and sound. Each residency culminates in a community sharing. At the end of the project, these layers will be distilled into a final performance, embodying resistance and release, fragmentation and unity which will be presented in Malta for the Malta International Arts Festival and Dance Festival Malta. All movement and music will draw inspiration from stories told by specific minority groups and the actual soil beneath us drawing a parallel on
