Project summary

The Emballage 9 Compagnie follows an artistic dream: to offer symbolic freedom to Mévy, the tigress killed after escaping from a circus. Through the EFFEA programme, we aim to take the first step towards that dream — to make L’Ombre du Tigre travel beyond borders and build the foundations for its international journey. The project includes a residence for translation into Spanish — the artist’s native language — and the diffusion of the show across three countries: Greece, Spain, and France.

Eli Neva Jaramillo - Compagnie Emballage 9

Biography: Colombian-born and based in France, I am a puppeteer, director, and author whose work lies at the intersection of theatre, dance, and sculpture.
After training at the Instituto Popular de Cultura in Cali (Colombia), I earned a BA in Theatre Studies at Aix-Marseille University, followed by a National Higher Diploma in Puppetry from the ESNAM in Charleville-Mézières in 2019. In 2021, I completed the New Dance training at Bewegungs– Art School (Germany).
My work explores the poetic presence of body and object. I build performances as encounters between matter and movement, always seeking to connect the sensitive and the political.
L’Ombre du Tigre is the result of several years of research into the figure of the animal and the question of freedom.
