Project summary

“Please, not Richard III” is born from the encounter of Cristian Viscione, artist and digital activist living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), director Giammarco Pignatiello and dramaturg Benedetta Pigoni (winner of Premio Riccione - Tondelli, the most prominent Italian prize for playwrights). Through digital tools, AI imagery, and social media languages, they rethink representation, body, and accessibility in performance. During the residency at Kilowatt Festival (IT) artists will work on digital tools to enhance Cristian’s interactive possibilities on the scene, as well as on the English version of the show. Together with partners MMMAD (ES) and 30CC/For Real Festival (BE), Kilowatt will mentor the creative process, organize a presentation and a collaborative workshop in presence.
