Project summary

Jaw Design supports the development of a new performance by devised theatre director Aljoša Lovrić Krapež through the residency in Ljubljana and collaboration between lead festival Mladi Levi (SI) and partner festivals Homo Novus (LV) and Bazaar (CZ).The title is a premise- a process in which the artist meditates on devouring as a way of relating to the world. We eat images every day: faces printed on cakes, cartoon characters moulded in sugar, edible logos.Through taste, we ingest symbols, desires, and identities.Project treats eating as an alchemical act, a way of questioning how power moves through acts of taking in and transforming. It unfolds as a performance-ritual, developing “a jaw” strong enough to chew through the noise of the world, exhaling it back as rhythm, movement, gesture
