Project summary

DIRTY WATERS is an essayistic performance by playwright Marcus Peter Tesch, combining live podcast and an electronic music concert. Developed in collaboration with scientist Slava Savova and musician Roberto Maqueda, the project investigates bath houses in Bulgaria, Austria, and Germany as meeting places for marginalized communities and as a space for critical reflections on national identity and neo-colonial relations between Western and Eastern Europe. DIRTY WATERS seeks a polyphonic, multilingual, and transnational narrative, intertwining research, performance, and dialogue across the Dramatiker|innenfestival Graz, Fringify Festival Hamburg, and 180 Degrees Festival Sofia.
