Project summary

Process & Apparatus is a programme that brings the studio work of Marta Salogni into the live-performance context, transforming tape machines, feedback circuits and live routing into a durational instrument. Across three of Europe’s most important experimental-music platforms - Berlin Atonal (Berlin), Unsound (Kraków) and Semibreve (Braga) - she will deliver a 2-hour open improvisation in Berlin, followed by two refined 50-minute live versions in Kraków and Braga, accompanied by workshops and digital documentation.

Biography: Marta Salogni is an Italian-born sonic architect whose early career was rooted in recording studios yet who is now stepping into her identity as artist-performer. Her exceptional technical fluency was forged through a formidable track-record in production and mixing, working behind the scenes on landmark records for artists such as Björk, Depeche Mode and Ela Minus. Until now her own voice has remained largely hidden behind the console. This residency enables her to transition into the live realm, refining a performative language that draws from her studio journey but speaks directly through presence, improvisation and duration. It marks her emergence from engineer to artist, reshaping sound as material, gesture and architecture.
