Project summary
MBZ LAB is an experimental project incubator reimagining how Music Biennale Zagreb commissions and produces new works. Four international artists with sound-based, interdisciplinary practices will collaborate on a context-responsive project developed through mentoring, peer exchange and iterative feedback. Each LAB process supports the creation of a work with a strong, modulable core concept that can be adapted and reinterpreted across spaces, formats and disciplines. The residency offers a platform to actively engage with local artists and arts organisations to cultivate future participants and partners. MBZ LAB will foster cross-disciplinary connections, pilot new ways of presenting hybrid work, activate public imagination, and strengthen long-term European creative networks.
