Alžbeta Vrzgula & Uhol_92

Biography: ALŽBETA VRZGULA (1992) is a Slovak theatre director and playwright, founder of the independent company Uhol_92. Her work examines human behavior under social and ideological pressure, exploring identity, gender (in)equality, and the boundaries of democracy. She is known for productions such as Humiliated and Bloodthirsty (DOSKY Award 2022), Toni Wolff Realizes She Lost Millions (Tatra Banka Foundation Award 2024), and Boundaries_92. Vrzgula’s theatre combines critical reflection, communication, and experimentation with form. With Uhol_92, she represents a vital voice of the young Slovak generation using theatre as a space for civic dialogue and artistic freedom. Currently, she works on Hey, Pookie! and Wild Wild Heart (premieres in 2025).
