Project summary

La fin du monde will be a show of circus, magie nouvelle, mimo, written and performed by Rocco Manfredi. The artist, who is Italian, currently based in France, is at work on this new production with the support of several Italian and French institutions and with the collaboration of other artists and technicians. The show will be premiering in Parma in December 2023 as part of Tutti Matti sotto Zero, the international festival of contemporary circus and magie nouvelle, produced by Teatro Necessario Circo and Grand Circus Hotel. La fin du monde is a solo-show, dedicated to the ancient art of The Cannon Man and to the whole circus world: on stage Rocco will perform an impossible flight, a rather magical flight, bringing on stage some rue or false personal and historical facts.

Biography: Rocco Manfredi graduated in Dramaturgy at the National Academy of Dramatic Art "Paolo Grassi" of Milan in 2013. In 2017 he attends the high training course for actors "Maestrale" organized by Piccola Compagnia della Magnolia. In 2019/2020 he attends the formation in "Magie Nouvelle" at CNAC - Centre national des arts du cirque Châlons-en-Champagne (France). As actor he studied with Milena Costanzo, Riserva Canini, Teatrino Giullare and Familie Flöz. As author he worked with M. Renga, R. Rustioni and Deflorian/Tagliarini. As actor has worked with B. Baruffini, Cal.Arts- California Institute of Arts, Compagnie Clandestine, Teatro Medico Ipnotico, A. Bernard, Théâtre de Cuisine, D. Menghini, P. Greenaway, Teatro Regio - Parma, Teatro alla Scala - Milan, Macerata Opera Festival, Festival D'Art Lyrique d'Aix-en-Provence and Les Karnavires. In 2014 with A.
