Project summary

La fin du monde will be a show of circus, magie nouvelle, mimo, written and performed by Rocco Manfredi. The artist, who is Italian, currently based in France, is at work on this new production with the support of several Italian and French institutions and with the collaboration of other artists and technicians. The show will be premiering in Parma in December 2023 as part of Tutti Matti sotto Zero, the international festival of contemporary circus and magie nouvelle, produced by Teatro Necessario Circo and Grand Circus Hotel. La fin du monde is a solo-show, dedicated to the ancient art of The Cannon Man and to the whole circus world: on stage Rocco will perform an impossible flight, a rather magical flight, bringing on stage some rue or false personal and historical facts.

Rocco Manfredi - part of Dispensa Barzotti

Biography: Rocco Manfredi graduated in Dramaturgy at the National Academy of Dramatic Art of Milan in 2013. He attended the high training course for actors organised by Piccola Compagnia della Magnolia and the formation in "Magie Nouvelle" at Centre national des arts du cirque Châlons-en-Champagne. He studied with Milena Costanzo, Riserva Canini, Teatrino Giullare and Familie Flöz and worked with many theatres, companies and festivals worldwide. In 2014, with Alessandra Ventrella, he created DispensaBarzotti. The company has performed in significant international festivals in France, Italy, Bulgaria and Portugal. Their creations have received several awards for young contemporary creation. His collaboration with the festival "Tutti Matti per Colorno" vitalises his research in street arts/ new circus.
