Project summary

Jana Shostak's presence at the TheaterTreffen festival in Berlin, the Spring Festival in Utrecht and the Santarcangelo Festival in Italy will be an opportunity to hear the voice of an exceptional artist who intertwines human solidarity and professional responsibility in her artistic practice. Jana combines activist work and visual practice, and is currently deeply involved in exhausting daily volunteer work. The artist's activities on all three levels (artistic/activist/educational) are a bold reaction to the world we are living in. Jana's actions, although in the field of art, aim at real political change. She treats them as a tool to demand for example political sanctions towards the Belarusian government.
