Artist

Celia Defournet

Biography:
Celia Dufournet is an actress and professor of Mime Corporel, holder of a psychomotrician DE (IFP Toulouse, 2021). From 2013 to 2018 she trained in Mime in the research and creation laboratory directed by Thomas Leabhart at Pomona College in California. Since her return to France, she has regularly led mime courses for amateurs and professionals (Regional Conservatory of Toulouse, Ecole Mime Hippocampe in Paris, Platform for young Franco-German creation in Lyon, Ecole le CITO in Nantes, Ring Theater, Asphodèles Theater, etc.). In 2022 / 2023, she will lead cultural actions as part of the Fauna project for the Victor Hugo Theater in Bagneux, aimed at encouraging encounters and promoting several invisible audiences through collections of testimonies and mime performances. By combining her work of sign language with satirical writing around socio-cultural issues such as American junk food or the place of women in fairy tales; she has written two singles-on-stage: In Food Empire, produced and broadcast by Schkapf Theater at the Hollywood Fringe Festival; Poisoned Snow White, political fairy tale, produced and distributed by La Fabrique de Théâtre in Belgium. She also works as a performer and external perspective for companies that use body dramaturgy in stage writing: His next show, La Grande Soif, a transmedia dystopia dealing with economic inequalities in an imaginary drought-stricken society, is in the works.
