Celia Defournet

Biography: Celia Dufournet is an actress and professor of Mime Corporel, holder of a psychomotrician DE. She trained in Mime in the research and creation laboratory directed by Thomas Leabhart at Pomona College in California. Since her return to France, she has regularly led mime courses for amateurs and professionals (Regional Conservatory of Toulouse, Ecole Mime Hippocampe, Platform for young Franco-German, Ecole le CITO, amongst others). In 2023, she will lead cultural actions as part of the Fauna project for the Victor Hugo Theater in Bagneux. By combining her work of sign language with satirical writing around socio-cultural issues such as American junk food or the place of women in fairy tales, she has created two short pieces: In Food Empire and Poisoned Snow White. Her next show, La Grande Soif, a transmedia dystopia dealing with economic inequalities in an imaginary drought-stricken society, is in the making supported by M.I.M Festival, GBG Mime Fest and Be in the Move.
