Project summary

Odissea del pollaio is a show by Irene Michailidis and her small creative team. It is a journey between Italy and Greece, inspired by the writings of her grandparents, combining the reading of the Homeric tales of one Grandparent, with the diary composed within the walls of a chicken coop during wartime confinement, by the other Grandparent. The discovery of those past traces moves the feminine character on stage, who leads the audience into a journey to explore life, ideals and dreams. This poetic and comic solo puts together all the disciplines Irene practices on stage: music, clown, puppet, physical theatre; each of them contributes to composing a poetic, dreamlike and grotesque intimate narration, which speaks to the whole audience, able to touch universal feelings.
