Project summary

Within this project application, a consortium of contemporary circus festivals from the Ex-Yugoslavia region would like to welcome Maria Palma Borras (ES) with her unique performance, “The submerged voice”, a contemporary aquatic circus creation. The creation would be presented in our festivals together with three masterclasses with the local circus communities and workshop to strengthen Maria’s visibility and promotion on the European scene. CirkoBalkana in Belgrade and CirkoBalkana in Zagreb, Klovnbuf Festival in Ljubljana and Peculiar Families Festival in Split is a consortium of contemporary circus festivals located in the ex-Yugoslavia region. Maria Palma Borras

Biography: Maria Palma Borras is emerging circus creator and performer based in Barcelona. She has been formally educated in Rogelio Rivel school in Barcelona and Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam (specialized in partner acrobatics and balancing acts). After 8 years of working as co-creator and performer at Madame Gauc group she immerses herself in this solo performance in which she is fusing circus, apnea and signing.
She has taken part in several shows, such as Corps extrêmes, by Chaillot - Théâtre national de la Danse, Paris (substitute acrobat); Fil by the company. Madame Gaüc; Manos en la ópera!, a production of El Petit Liceu; Oopart, by the company Tresperté; Estat d’emergència; by the Producción Nacional de Circo de Cataluña.
