Project summary

Samit Nesvrstanih, DŽUMBUS, and Substrat unite to promote diverse urban cultures. They empower youth and local communities, challenging perceptions of Europe's "periphery" through bold art and music, creating new platforms for alternative engagement with public spaces. Their geographical areas are not only what brings them together, but also the need to dismantle prejudices and realising their local scenes. This exchange programme focuses on the metal genre, often considered not "polish" enough, to gain access to an international audience without losing their much-needed connection to the local scene. By creating an inter-local network of scenes, this first residency exchange will focus on the hardcore/alternative group "Reluctant" from Bosnia.

Artist

Reluctant

Biography: Reluctant is an alternative/hard core metal band from Tuzla. Like most young bands, they formed in high school with the goal of playing and expressing themselves and their emotion on the stage, until they took the matter more seriously and develop not only an audience but as a crucial headliner of Bosnian contemporary music scenes.
The message sent by the band through music and lyrics is simple: « If we don’t like the current situation of everything and we will change it in ourselves ». This DIY message can be found with the released songs « Until kingdom falls » and « Ne mogu » (« I can’t » in English) . The band is currently working on the release of their first studio album, which will be release in 2023.
