Project summary

A dancing journey through a girl’s relationship with her eating disorder. Cut the tie is a 4' short 2D animation by Anna Oikonomou, who has battled with an eating disorder herself and now advocates for the need to acknowledge the issue and ask for help, through her art. Miss Oikonomou is an aspiring animator from Greece, who was recently awarded with the “Stasinos” award for “Best Student Film”. During the discovery residency, the audience will have the opportunity to watch her work in progress, as well as learn about her way of creating and evolving while living in a country that gives no opportunities to young artists and especially animators.
