Project summary

IHOPEIWILL looks at the future in the light of the current tense political situation and the climate crisis, aspects the authors have been investigating in their work since the beginning of their collaboration. The performance focuses around a message to a young person in the future, a granddaughter whose environment is now being decided and shaped by us. How do we imagine a common future? What do we hope and want to create for our grandchildren? The production aims to welcome the audience into a safe space where the personal can reflect the global. Through personal stories, we hope to bring the audience closer to themselves, to their own bodies and their emotional selves. Can we, by sharing a feeling of interconnectednes and empathy make a pact within ourselves to help future generations?
