EFFEA Call #3: Thank you!

We are so happy about the fantastic response to EFFEA Call #3. Thanks for sharing your ideas, dreams, and goals with us. A total of 399 festivals representing 41 countries and 18 artistic disciplines submitted residency proposals to nurture and support emerging artists. With pre-announcement on 21 November 2023, the third call for applications was open between 15 January and 19 March 2024. Over the course of these months, a lot was going on: 

- Networking and information sharing - The EFA team hosted 4 online EFFEA Sessions and participated in 2 international meetings. The EFFEA Platform Members organised 7 sessions, conferences or seminars. These activities reached over 1100 participants from different countries.

- Engagement - Festivals and artists presented their work through the EFFEA Facebook Community, where many partnerships started to take shape. There was an active engagement on FestivalFinder.eu. Artists and festivals found each other through the platform, and over 600 festivals registered their upcoming editions since the pre-announcement. Nearly 200 contacts were gathered through a shared list circulated among artists and festivals interested in applying to EFFEA and looking for connections with colleagues.

Currently, the EFFEA Jury is reviewing the applications. The European Festivals Association team will contact the leading festivals with the final decision in April and a public announcement will be made in May 2024.

For those of you who have been thinking about applying to the call but have not been able to complete it within the given timeframe, we hope to bring you a new call soon. In the meantime, stay tuned to our website and social media platforms.
